If your original gauge cluster fails or you need to replace it for another reason, it is important to program the correct digital mileage back into the unit. The vehicle’s miles are usually stored inside the gauge cluster. Having inaccurate digital odometer mileage can negatively affect the resale price of your vehicle and also show up as a red mark on a vehicle history check or registration renewal. Be aware that typically mileage will be within +/- 200 miles of the requested. This is due to hexadecimal, memory, and mathematical limitations on how manufacturers code the mileage into the chip. Exact mileage typically will not happen. We typically do NOT do BMW, Audi, or Mercedes odometer reprogramming due to the complexity and rampant fraud in the used car market. If you are a local customer that can come to us with one of these makes please let us know and we can determine what can or can’t be done. We will not take mail-in items on these brands. We have digital instrument cluster mileage correction for 95% of the vehicles out there, so we recommend contacting us before your purchase to verify!
